Dr. Brayboy’s Research Wins Prestigious Elsevier Atlas Award

In February of 2017 Women & Infants’ Fertility Center’s Dr. Lynae Brayboy published a study in the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology titled “Girl Talk: A Smartphone Application to Teach Sexual Health Education to Adolescent Girls.” The article explained research on the development of a smartphone app to educate teen girls on sexual health. Dr. Carol Wheeler also contributed to the study, which concluded that the development of such an app could be beneficial for public health.

After its publication, the research was shortlisted for an Elsevier Atlas award and then selected as the June 2017 winner. Criteria for this prestigious award are based on the potential social impact of the study findings.
