Jacalyn S. Finerty, MS, APRN, WHNP-BC
I enjoy talking with my patients as if we were family or friends. I love to teach and connect on a personal level with those I work with and care for. This allows them to leave an appointment with less fear and more excitement about things to come.

Meet Jacalyn Finerty
Jackie started working as a secretary in the labor and delivery unit at Women & Infants Hospital when she started nursing school. It was there that she found her passion for women’s health. She has worked as a nurse in many aspects of women’s health in relation to childbearing, including labor and delivery, the operating room (where she served as a clinical educator), high-risk obstetrics, and reproductive medicine.
Jackie is extremely proud that she has attained her professional goal of working as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She works closely with inter-disciplinary teams that always keep the patient as the center of focus. She appreciates that reproductive medicine allows her to directly take care of patients, while helping them achieve their goals of building their family.
Approach to treatmentKindness, empathy, and a nonjudgmental approach to guiding patients through any healthcare journey are hallmarks of Jackie’s patient care philosophy. She employs a multi-angle approach to patient care, always including a thorough investigation into the individual’s healthcare needs.
“I’ve been a nurse for 20 years and have the ability to care for patients, listen to their needs, and make them comfortable – even at their most frightened,” she says. “I am proud to have been a part of Women & Infants Hospital for almost 22 years. Throughout the years, this has given me the opportunity to grow and learn from this wonderful team, with respect to the care of women and their needs.”
